My choice of Long Shot for the Heisman Trophy 2011
I have a choice of long shot for the Heisman Trophy in 2011. In reality it may not be as much a long shot in my view it. Read on and see what you think. There are many SEC players with a shot to the Heisman already in 2011. Especially running backs-Marcus Lattimore and Trent Richardson are the two best in the SEC according to most writers and talk-show hosts.
Marcus Lattimore has played for the Alabama, it would be in the two best with the chance of Andrew QB for Stanford. If he can have a great year and in South Carolina can win the SEC, I think that his chances of winning may be good enough. A problem that it can meet, is that there is another Heisman candidate on his own team in GH Alshon Jeffery who will be the top of the page of wide receiver the nation at the end of the year. Usually, two Heisman hopes in the same team splits the vote cursed and spells for two players.
My candidate long shot is another player of SEC and it is a QB. Many people jump up and down, say I am stupid and don't know what I speak. Just another blogger stupid, write stupid things. It is not a professional or sports writer talk host, so it does not know whereof he speaks.
This QB is working for a coach who rides him constantly. It seems that coach said never a positive word guy - until this time of pre-season practice that is. Light seems to be gone all of a sudden. He studied the manual and seems to know inside and outside all a sudden. He is watching the movie. According to coach in the past he did not know that the manual well enough and just made the minimum for the study of the film. He goofed off the coast during the off season according to his coach. This summer, he worked hard and lost a few pounds.
Now, some of you know who I'm talking about. For those who are not sure that I speak you Stephen Garcia.I can see Coach Spurrier shaking his head now, this blogger saying nah is way out on a limb. Stephen has nothing not here to make me or anyone who thinks that. Heck, that he could not even begin...Yeah good coach.
To consider some numbers.Garcia earned third-team accolades Phil Steele's All-SEC in 2010... has was 14... completed matches 64.2% of his passes, hit 224 349 attempts for 3 059 yards... its 20 passes TD tied the second most in the history of Caroline in a single season.
In 2009, the SEC had 14 games with 300 or more yards passing. Stephen Garcia had 4 of them as a sophomore. He threw for 17 touchdowns and ran for 4 more. Thrown for 2862 yards, two years ago.
In 2009, Andrew Luck threw for 2575 yards. Chance had 13 TDs and completed 56.3% of his passes. Year last chance 2010 had his detachable year passing for 3338 yards, 33 TDs and a 70.7% passing completion ratio. It was 263-372.
Now the chance is a great QB and may be the first choice in the project, but the figures was not that a big difference in the numbers of last year between the other two that passes TDs Luck had.
And Stephen Garcia plays in the sec.
Then why Garcia be finalists for the Heisman at the end of the year. Defenses will try to stop Lattimore first. It is data. That opens the passage. Alshon Jeffery will get its share of catches and yards but teams will try to double team him this year. Anyone following football USC is known in South Carolina has increased their speed to the WR slots with some of the players. Look for among wary them to arrive a few long balls.
Lattimore also received larger and faster this year. Its backups Kenny Miles and Shon Carson have good speed. Although Carson a true freshman has high speed for a RB. Look for more screen passes in the back of this year. Still more passing yardage for Garcia.
